Java Sensors and Their Applications

This paper presents the design, implementation, performance analysis and applications of Java sensors based on the reactive system model. A Java sensor constantly monitors the state of an entity. Other entities can subscribe to a Java sensor and therefore are noti ed whenever the monitored state changes. The main advantage of using sensors is the ability to separate policies from mechanisms, providing greater exibility and modularity in system design and programming. The paper uses two examples to show the application of our Java sensors.
